2. Popcorn
This well-known motif is done by making three stitches into one stitch as the following directions indicate. A variation is presented here and, with imagination, you can probably think of others to make.
(K1, YO, K1) into a st, turn work and K3, turn work and P3, turn work and K3, turn work and K3 tog. This completes the Popcorn.
For a larger Popcorn, add more stitches at the beginning. “Popcorn” (page 33 and Illus. 41) uses the Popcorn Stitch in alternating bands of wool and silk. The areas in linen are made with the Bobble Stitch.
