Scenario Number One, Paul

Paul, twenty-nine years old, is an experienced counselor who has been counseling Sue, a strikingly attractive single woman who is twenty-five years old. Sue’s first session had been six months earlier. Although Sue had initially been depressed and anxious, particularly about her verbally abusive relationship with her then, fiancé, Chip, with a successful confrontation of Chip’s abusive behavior, Sue eventually moved to end the relationship. Having stood up for herself for perhaps the first time in her life, Sue is now feeling self-assured and confident.
