Ficus pumila
Ficus benjamina
Ficus benjamina ‘Variegata’
Freesia
Freesias are sought after cut flowers, combining a wide range of colours and a lovely shaped flower with a distinctive and delicious scent. They are easy to grow from corms in a conservatory or greenhouse. They need fairly cool temperatures.
Will grow well if planted into a well-drained, multi-purpose compost. Add grit
Cool house conditions where temperatures do not rise above 16°C (61°F)
Water well except after flowering; water should then be reduced until compost is dry and plant dormant
Store the dried corms in a cool, frost-free place and plant them out into fresh compost in late summer
Red spider mites and aphids can be a problem, particularly if plants are kept in too warm a temperature
