B Section (measures 9–16):

Speedy legato maneuvers in the “symmetrical box” portion of Pattern 3 (see Figs. 18A and 19A) open the B section with a bang! (This phrase actually starts with the pickup notes in the last measure of the A section.) In measure 10, a Pattern 4 lick serves as a response, followed by a brief handoff to Pattern 3, and the section goes out with an extended stay in the upper portion of Pattern 4. Note the inclusion of 12th-fret dyads that were introduced in Fig. 27C and the high-E and B-string bends first encountered in Figs. 24C–D.
