“If we had three days, maybe,” Dean said. “We don’t even have three minutes.”

Dean jumped onto a hammer. “Maybe we can build a new mouse hole. I’ll need to get a blueprint of the Oval Office. Then I have to figure out a spot that will stay hidden by furniture at all times.”

“It’s a good idea, but that will take too long. Plus, we don’t like to make more mouse holes than we need to,” Ava said. “Too bad we don’t have a robot dog we can send in to chase after Clover.”

Dean tossed some dice onto the floor. “I don’t really see Clover being scared of dogs.”

Ava froze. “What did you say?”

“I don’t see Clover being scared of dogs,” Dean said. He picked up the dice and rolled them again. “Why?”

A grin spread across Ava’s face. “Hold on. I think…I think I have a plan.” She ran around the rooms until she found two items.

Dean scratched his head. “Huh? Why are you grabbing that stuff?”

“Everyone! Everyone!” Ava called. “I have an idea!”

The mice scrambled into the room with all the kitchen supplies. Aunt Agnes grinned when she saw the items in front of Ava.

“Niece, have I told you lately that you are a very, very smart mouse?”
