Jerusalem, Province of Judea

“HE'S A GOOD MAN.”

“No, he's a bad man, dangerous.”

“He's a brilliant politician.”

“He's a lunatic.”

“Everything he says is true, though.”

“No, everything he says is one big lie.”

His brothers are glad Jesus had not come. At least not with them. He is such a family embarrassment. They are ashamed of him.

“Definitely, he needs locked up in one of those caves for crazy people,” James tells his brothers. “For his own good, you understand.”

“He's dangerous, not only to the people but to himself,” Jude says.

But one day late in the celebration, big brother does show up. At the temple. He performs a few miracles. He argues a few dozen times with the temple officials and tells them once again they're going to hell. They, in turn, tell him he is the one going to hell.

Jesus' brothers head back home. They do not know it, but Jesus will never be home again. Instead, he hides out up in the direction of Syria. He goes back to Jerusalem one time in December, but not for long. There's an all-out attempt on his life. Next time they won't miss.
