Mitt

With Color A, CO 30 (36) sts. Divide evenly onto DPNs and join to work in the round, being careful not to twist sts.

Work in k1, p1 ribbing for 1"/2.5 cm.

Work in Lattice Pattern until piece measures 5"/13 cm.

THUMB GUSSET

Continuing in pattern, work across 12 (18) stitches, CO 2 sts using backward loop CO for thumb gusset, work across.

Work thumb gusset in St st in whatever color you’re using for that round. Inc 1 st (kfb or M1) at each end of the gusset each round until it has 10 (12) sts.

Continue straight until thumb is 20 rounds (10 stripes) long. Place gusset sts on a holder.

Work 4 more rounds on mitt body only.

With Color A, work in k1, p1 ribbing for 2 rnds. BO.

Place thumb stitches back on needles. With Color A, work in k1, p1 ribbing for 2 rnds. BO.

Weave in ends.

Knit second mitt in same manner.
