I was spooning him. Like full-on, nestled right against his toned, perfect ass. Sleepy Ella needs to control herself. After all, I was the one that invited him into the bed, so imagine my surprise when I see it is me who has broken the treaty, literally sleeping with the enemy. Okay, so Darren isn't the enemy, but still, what was I thinking?

Oh, I know. I was thinking that being around him, for whatever strange reason, makes me so relaxed that I have practically become narcoleptic around him.

"Hello?" I answer my phone once I get into the hallway, totally forgetting that I had turned the ringer on.

"Hi Miss Jamison, this is Walter the maintenance supervisor for El Cangrejo. I am outside your room but there is no answer when I knock."

I glance down the hallway and see the man standing in front of my door. He is shorter than me, which is saying a lot, and wearing a dark blue jumpsuit. I hang up the phone as I get closer, I notice his name scrawled on his chest. I am surprised they didn't have it embroidered or at the very least a more professional way to identify him other than a barely-legible Sharpie.

"Hi Walter, sorry about that. I was staying with a friend and wasn't expecting you. Thank you so much for this, it has been miserable in my room. The room itself is beautiful, don't get me wrong, but I think because it overlooks the pool it is sweltering most every hour of the day from the sun rays reflecting off the water. I can't function in that kind of heat. I am from up north and our weather never gets this hot," I ramble, while Walter, who is not interested in my explanation, waits for me to unlock the door.

"I am hoping I have the part it needs. This time of year is tough with supplies since every resort is trying to fix their broken units. I will do my best with what I have," he explains, entering my room and going directly to the case in the wall where the air conditioning should be coming from.

"Right, well thank you again. I will just sit out on the deck in case you need anything." I grab my notebook and pencils off the bed and exit through the sliding door, leaving it open so I can hear him. The slightly-there breeze rolls through the drapes.
