An amusing anecdote about the Heinz competition is that entrants had to tick a box saying whether they preferred a grey or white car. When the draw was made, they started with two piles, one for grey and one for white and, naturally, the grey pile was much smaller. So you had a much better chance of winning if you chose grey!

Forty-one of the Heinz 57 cars survive today, and fifteen of the Mini Sprint conversions. It is a shame that Crayford did not convert more cars, because nobody has really done the job much better than they did.
