A hundred people at the party, yet only one brown-skinned siren is on my mind. It was finally the night of Malakai and Avery’s engagement party, and even though Undefined Sanctum’s first unveiling was going off without a hitch, I couldn’t get my mind off Jordyn.

“I’m proud of you, brother,” Malakai said, slapping my shoulder. “Out of all your cigar lounges, this one is my favorite.”

I smiled in pride at my brother’s words. I’d put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into making sure Undefined Sanctum surpassed the hype of Unclassified Hideaway and Unsettled Retreat.

“Thanks, bruh. After tonight, I’m even more ready for the official grand opening in a month.” Having Malakai and Avery’s family and close friends, along with a few of my elite cigar members who’d joined with the promise that this cigar lounge would be my most exclusive, was a huge plus. I was able to hear what people liked and disliked in plenty of time to make adjustments.

I nodded to Malakai. “How about you get Pops and the fellas so we can head to my largest private cigar suite.”

“For sho’. I think Jordyn has some of the family participating in some sort of engagement celebration game, but I’ll round them up.”

I laughed. “You’re the groom. Why the hell are you with me and not playing the damn game?”

Malakai glanced around, as if not wanting anyone to overhear. “Nigga, I didn’t even want this engagement party, but you insisted and I figured you wanted a reason to plan something with Jordyn, so I agreed. But all I want to do is marry that woman standing over there.” He nodded toward Avery who was engrossed in whatever game Jordyn had come up with.

“I feel you.” I looked Jordyn’s way and caught her eye. For a beat, something passed between us and I immediately recognized what it was on my end. My body was still itching to touch that juicy ass that was jiggling underneath her black dress every time she walked.

“You good?” Malakai asked with a knowing look.

“Yeah.” I dropped eye contact with Jordyn and turned to Malakai. “Thanks for looking out, big bro.”

“No problem. I think y’all look good together.”

“We aren’t together,” I said a little too quickly.

“Right,” he deadpanned. “Let me find the guys. I know they’re prolly hiding so they don’t have to participate in this game.”

“Bet. I’ll set up first.” I walked to the hallway that led to the private suites, proud of myself for having the foresight to build these private cigar suites. Folks attending the party were already making reservations and paying some good coins for them.

When I made it to the largest suite, I went to unlock the safe where I’d previously placed some limited Cuban cigars that cost $500 a cigar and had a hint of cognac for flavor. I wanted my brothers and dad to be the first to try these one of a kind cigars.

“This is nice,” a voice said from behind me. “I think you’ll get a lot of reservations for this space.
