QUILT CONSTRUCTION

This quilt has 9 rows with sashing strips between the rows.

1. Refer to the quilt diagram to arrange the prepared blocks on a design wall or the floor, in a configuration of 3 blocks in a row across and 9 rows down. Think of the blocks creating 3 vertical columns of “windows” in a building. Rearrange if necessary to evenly distribute the blocks with the medium pastels and darkened “windows.” Place pastel 1½″ × 7½″ sashing strips between the blocks in each row, again referring to the quilt diagram.

2. Sew each of the 9 rows together, and press the seams toward the black fabric. Return the rows to the design wall in their original location, leaving about 3″ between each row.
