» Two songs – one ‘sad’, one ‘happy’ – and the means to play them in class over a loudspeaker
• Method
Play a ‘sad’ song to the class. Choose one that is quite obviously sad based on tempo, musical tone and lyrics.
Ask children how the song made them feel, using as wide a range of emotional vocabulary as possible.
Repeat the activity with a ‘happy’ song.
