Don’t forget: all Jen had to do was change the type of trees to beech – that made all the difference and inspired immediate action.

In other words, play around with the image. Since the original image depicts a stuck state, it follows that making changes will enable you to get unstuck.

Another option is to find a picture of a landscape that depicts the current stuck state and make the changes you feel like making to it, by cutting the picture up and adding other images to it, making it into more of a collage. For example, perhaps change the sky, add a tree or take one out, change the flowers or grass. Keep going until the new landscape feels, or looks, or you just know is, right. Put it somewhere visible or even make it into a screensaver. Do whatever enables you to be reminded of this new landscape – a landscape that represents moving forward and being back on track.

Once you’ve finished playing around with the landscape, it’s important to reflect on the original situation.
