Chapter 8: Setting Boundaries For Controlling Behavior

Marriage is a partnership. That might sound obvious, but it’s surprising how many husbands and wives want to control every aspect of their partner’s behavior. This is clearly crossing a boundary, since no person should ever control the behavior of another.

Adults are hopefully responsible enough to make their own decisions as to what they wear, whom they make friends with, what they eat and drink, and how they live their lives. However, if your husband or wife is dictating these aspects of your life, they are exercising unacceptable influence over you, and it should not be allowed to continue.
