Either something was seriously wrong with me, or I was in love with Blair Evans.

How that was even possible I didn’t know. Not when being in love with him meant knowing enough about him to even love him in the first place. Maybe it was just infatuation? Obsession?

No. That was worse.

That was way fucking worse.

“What the fuck is your deal?” Collin shoved the front door open and I glared at him from where I was nursing a mug of blood in the kitchen. Warming it up in the microwave always made it taste chemically but it was leagues better than dealing with the flavor of it cold.

“What?” I huffed, setting the mug down, honestly a little glad that Collin had come in fists swinging because it meant I’d get to fight him and stop thinking about apple-green eyes and that freckle at the tip of Blair’s nose.

“You were a total asshole to Blair yesterday.” Collin stomped towards me, probably attempting to be intimidating but the illusion wasn’t even close. He’d given me the silent treatment when I’d driven him home the day before, and I’d been too distracted by my inner turmoil to call him out on it. I figured he’d come to me when he was ready to talk. Apparently, I’d been right. I crossed my arms to mirror him and cocked my head.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“You were all. ‘You’re so cute,’ ‘Lemme stare at you for five fucking hours,’ ‘Omg I’m gonna buy you a zillion gifts just cuz I’m a nice guy.’” Collin threw up some air quotes for good measure. “Then the next morning it’s just ‘FUCK YOU, you little black haired twink,’ ‘how dare you stumble into my evil lair even though I’m the one who invited you.’”

Wow.

He’d really thought this through. Also, should I be alarmed that he knew the word ‘twink?’ Why would he know that?

“First of all—”

“And don’t try to tell me you don’t think he hung the sun with his asshole because I know what sorts of faces you usually make and ‘heart eyes’ was not in your repertoire until Blair moved into town and you got your lil mission thingy from SAC.”

“I don’t think you know what you’re saying.”

Collin glared at me. “Fuck off. Okay?” He shoved my chest, pushing up into my space, his eyes burning with anger. “I fucking know you dude.” The counter dug into my lower back as I glared at him, surprised to realize we were nearly eye level.

He was growing so quick and it was honestly terrifying.

“Get out of my face, dude.” I glared down my nose at him until he huffed and stalked away, flopping down at the table with a dramatic scrape of his seat on the tile. “You don’t know what you’re talking about,” I repeated.

“I think I do,” he countered, deflating a little, the fight leaving him. “I think you’re just… I think you feel stuff—or whatever—that you’re not used to and since you’re such a tight ass about everything you just freaked.
