Bucilla Blue Label (delustered) Cotton. Article 3457, 22 skeins.

Bucilla Steel Crochet Hooks, Sizes 7 and 9, Article 4300.

Gauge: Each square when finished should measure 7½ inches.

Filet—4 spaces = 1 inch, 4 rows = l inch.

LACE SQUARE—With fine (size 9) hook, ch 5, join with a slip st into a ring. 1st round: work 8 s c in ring, join with a slip st in first s c of round. 2nd round : ch 6, work 1 d c in next st, ch 3 and 1 d c in each st of round, end with ch 3, join with a slip st in 3rd st of chain 6 at beginning of round. 3rd round: ch 5, * work 1 treble (twice over hook) in next space, 1 d c in same space, 1 s d c (s d c—short d c—thread over hook, draw up a loop in place, thread over and through all 3 loops on hook) in same space, 1 s c in same space, 1 s c in top of next d c, work a group of 1 s c, 1 s d c, 1 d c and 1 treble,—all in next space, 1 treble in top of next d c; repeat from * around, join with a slip st in top st of chain 5 at beginning of round. 4th round: ch 1, 1 s c in joining st of round below, * ch 5, skip 4 sts, work a long treble (3 times over hook) in next st, ch 5, 1 d c in center of long treble just made, ch 5, skip the next 4 sts, 1 s c in next st; repeat from * around, end with ch 5, join with a slip st in first s c of round. 5th round: work 5 s c in first space, ch 5, slip st in 5th st from hook (picot), ch 5, a 2nd picot, ch 5, a 3rd picot, slip st in last s c made (triple picot), * work 5 s c in next (corner) space, work a triple picot and 5 more s c in same space, a triple picot and 5 s c in each of the next 2 spaces; repeat from * around, working all corners alike, end with 5 s c in last space, join with a slip st in first s c of round, ch 5, picot, ch 2, draw up a loop in joining st, draw up a loop in next st, thread over and through one loop 3 times in succession, thread over and through 2 loops, over and through one loop twice in succession, over and through remaining 2 loops on hook, thus joining round with a triple picot. 6th round: ch 1, work 1 s c in top of last triple picot made, ch 5, 1 s c in center picot of next triple picot, * ch 5,
