Systems vs Structures

I was talking with my son recently, and he said, “The police is a system that’s really ugly.”

I said, “No, it’s not a system. It’s a structure. A system is something that is malleable and changeable. It can be adjusted according to the moment. A structure is something you put in place that has laws, regulations and rules that you have to follow. The military is a structure; it’s not a system. The law is a structure; it’s not a system.

A system adapts to what you want. Access Consciousness® is a system. We don’t have rigid rules. Access adjusts according to the moment and the people in it. When we have a class, I’m not trying to present a structure that will allow people to go to a certain place. I’m asking the people to be present in a way that leads us to new places. I ask of every person who comes to class: Be in the space where new places and spaces can be accessed. It’s a system—not a structure. Rules are few and far between.

The system is like the question. It’s like the choice. It’s like the possibility. It allows the quantum entanglements to contribute to you, while a structure eliminates anything but the “right” point of view. There are a whole lot of structures out there but very few systems. Accounting programs are a structure. The IRS is a structure.

There are a lot of people who are saying, “Use my system and you will succeed,” but what they’re offering is not a system. They are attempting to sell their structure as though it’s a system that will adapt to your needs—but unfortunately you will only get a result if you do things their way. They’re calling it a system, but it’s not. It’s a structure. A system is always malleable, changeable and adaptable to the moment.

In my life, my system is being the question. A contractor who is doing some work on my house called me this morning in a meltdown. She said, “This occurred, this occurred and this occurred.”

I asked, “So, what could you do different that would create a different possibility?”

She said, “Oh! I can do this, this and this!”

That one little question opened the door for her to see everything from a different place, and within five minutes, she was out of the stew she had been in. A system puts a question foremost in your mind as the doorway to options and possibilities you haven’t

considered.
