Turkey Drumsticks with Plum Sauce

Simmering Turkey Breast

Slow Cooker: 5-quart • Prep Time: 15 min • Cook Time: Low 8 to 9 hr

6 1⁄2-pound bone-in turkey breast, thawed if frozen

1 medium onion, chopped (1⁄2 cup)

1 medium stalk celery, chopped (1⁄2 cup)

1 bay leaf

1 teaspoon salt

1⁄2 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper

1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules

1⁄2 cup water

1. Remove gravy packet or extra parts from turkey breast. Place onion, celery and bay leaf in cavity of turkey. Place turkey in 5-quart slow cooker.

2. Sprinkle turkey with salt and pepper. Mix bouillon and water until granules are dissolved; pour over turkey.

3. Cover and cook on low heat setting 8 to 9 hours or until juice of turkey is no longer pink when center is cut. Remove bay leaf.

Rosemary Turkey and Potatoes

Slow Cooker: 3 1⁄2- to 6-quart • Prep Time: 15 min • Cook Time: Low 8 to 10 hr

3 medium potatoes, cut into 2-inch pieces

1 package (10 ounces) frozen cut green beans

3 turkey thighs (about 3 pounds), skin removed

1 jar (12 ounces) home-style turkey gravy

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon parsley flakes

1⁄2 teaspoon dried rosemary leaves, crumbled

1⁄8 teaspoon pepper

1. Layer potatoes, green beans and turkey in 3 1⁄2- to 6-quart slow cooker. Mix remaining ingredients until smooth; pour over mixture in cooker.

2. Cover and cook on low heat setting 8 to 10 hours or until juice of turkey is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut.

3. Remove turkey and vegetables from cooker, using slotted spoon. Stir sauce; serve with turkey and vegetables.

Betty’s Success Tip Potatoes sometimes take longer to cook than other vegetables or meats in a slow cooker. By putting them into the cooker first, they are in liquid during the long cooking time and will be done in the same time as the other ingredients.

1⁄2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves

1⁄8 teaspoon pepper

1 bag (1 pound) frozen baby bean and carrot blend, thawed and drained

1. Place potatoes in 3 1⁄2- to 6-quart slow cooker; arrange turkey on top. Mix remaining ingredients except vegetables until smooth; pour over mixture in slow cooker.
