Terran females seem to possess the same level of sexual energy as V’loryn males. We’ve been taught it is important to suppress this urge because our females only tolerate a mating once every six months to one year. To know that Elizabeth still desires more even after she’s found her release is a pleasure I had not even imagined. Perhaps I will not have to suppress my mating urges with her. To be honest, I could have pleasured her all night, but she was tired after she reached her third completion.

I’ve read Terran males require a refractory period between matings, but my people do not have this problem. I’ve also read that Terrans can be very vocal during matings, and this, I’ve discovered, is truth. Elizabeth cried out so many times and so loudly, Errun circled overhead at least twice to make sure we were not in distress.

As I hold her in my arms, I gaze at her in wonder. She responds so beautifully to my touch. I love the sounds of pleasure she makes and the way she writhes beneath me when my mouth is on her body.

She opens her eyes and gives me a sleepy smile. “What time is it?” she whispers.

I turn my gaze up to the sky. “Errun should be back for us soon. Until then…rest, my Elizabeth. I have you.”

She releases a small sigh of contentment and snuggles into my chest. She closes her eyes, drifting off to sleep, and I’m touched again by her complete and utter trust in me. That this beautiful and perfect female would allow me to hold her like this, to bring her to a place so different from her home, to love me even knowing what I am… Words cannot express the depth of my feelings for her.

Errun’s shadow circles overhead. Fully extending his massive wings, he gently drifts down beside us. I pull Elizabeth close against me to protect her from the swirling dust and wind as he lands. He cocks his head to the side, regarding me curiously.

His mate flies low overhead, probably anxious to return to their cave. I suspect, by now, they probably have a nest with at least one, maybe two eggs awaiting them. Pressing a gentle kiss to Elizabeth’s forehead, I whisper her name to wake her.

She opens her eyes, and a beautiful but tired smile curves her lips. I help her up onto Errun’s back, and as soon as I’m settled behind her, she falls asleep against me. As if conscious of this, Errun takes great care in his flight and subsequent landing on the balcony, touching down so gently I pause a moment, uncertain if we’re actually on the ground or not.

Holding Elizabeth tight to my chest, I slide off his back. “Goodnight, my friend,” I whisper.

He waits to take off until after I’m inside our room with the glass door shut behind me. Laying her gently down into the bed, I crawl in next to her and curl myself protectively around her, allowing myself to drift off to sleep as well.
