Although squash is pollinated by honeybees, the squash bee is a squash-pollinating powerhouse that visits only plants in the cucurbit family. Full pollination takes six to eight pollinator visits.

Count and record the number of flowers on individual squash plants. Do some plants have more flowers than others?

DIRECTIONS
1. Make sure the plant has both male and female flowers. The male flowers open a week or two before the female flowers in order to begin attracting pollinators. (Fig. 1)
