Hot Chocolate with Cherry Powder
We eat many of our preserves in the winter, and the thought of cherries and coffee fills my head with memories of coming in from a cold walk with our dog, Shaeffer, and looking for a way to warm up. This recipe can be easily doubled on the coldest days.
SERVINGS: 2 LARGE MUGS
EFFORT: 10 MINUTES
ELAPSED: 15 MINUTES
1 quart (4 cups) milk
12 dried cherries (optional)
4 oz cherry-infused brandy (optional)
3 Tbsp cocoa powder
2½ Tbsp maple syrup
½ tsp cayenne
2 Tbsp cherry espresso powder
