Chapter Six
Jake
Iâm not going to last, whispers through my mind. Turning to look at the woman I quickly jump up, putting myself between her and Thomas. Her mind is screaming for release and dominance. Looking over my shoulder at Thomas I shout, âYou have to decide now! She canât fight who she is and weâre the only ones who can help her.â The argument in Thomasâs head is confused and scared. Unfortunately, thereâs no time to reassure him as I feel her mind focus on me. Keeping my voice calm I ask, âThomas, whatâs her name?â
âCallie,â he breathes, making it almost sound like a prayer.
I put my hands out in front of me and slowly walk to where sheâs laying on the floor, moaning and panting as she rubs her hands over her body. âCallie? I need you to listen to me. I know you canât understand what Iâm saying, but I need you to relax.â I make my voice level and smooth, hoping to get close enough to her that I can keep her from hurting herself or us. Her mind is nothing but need. A need for release, for something, anything, to take away the burning fire in her veins. I watch as she scratches and pulls at her clothes, trying to rip them away from her overheated skin. Humming softly and shushing her, I carefully reach down and grab her wrists. Her eyes lock with mine and I have to put a strong shield, stronger than Iâve ever had to before, around my mind so that Iâm not sucked into her lust filled madness. Brigit, help me, I beseech my Goddess. Warmth and love flow up my spine, pooling at the base of my skull before I feel the veil of her Will ripple over my mind.
Callie is making mewling sounds and trying to pull me to her while pushing her body towards mine. Her claws are elongating and retracting erratically as she attempts to grab me, but I easily hold her at bay, the Will of Brigit and my own stronger than hers. Thank Goddess she hasnât learned how to use her own Goddess yet. Iâd never hold her then, I think as I gently but firmly hold her arms to her sides as she thrashes on our living room floor.
Turning to Thomas I ask, âCan you get the chains? I canât help her if she shreds me to death.â My voice startles him, but he nods jerkily before quickly walking out of the room. Sighing I look down at Callie and do the only thing I can think of to calm her, at least temporarily. Our lips touch and the fire raging through her body rushes into mine. Unlike the first time, Iâm prepared for the onslaught, barely managing to channel the energy so that it merges with mine. Though Iâm trying to be gentle and concentrate, the feeling of her tongue running along my lips demanding entry is hard to resist. Hurry Thomas, I plead.
