STITCH PATTERN

2X2 RIB (multiple of 4 sts; 2-row repeat)

Row 1 (RS): K1, *p2, k2; repeat from * to last 3 sts, p2, k1.

Row 2: P1, *k2, p2; repeat from * to last 3 sts, k2, p1.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for 2x2 Rib.

BLANKET

STRIP 1

SQUARE 1

CO 64 sts. Begin 2x2 Rib; work even for 3 rows.

Decrease Row (WS): Work 11 sts, [p2tog, work 18 sts] twice, p2tog-tbl, work to end—61 sts remain.

Next Row: Change to Cable Pattern from Chart; work even until entire Cable Pattern is complete.

Increase Row (WS): Work 12 sts, M1-p, work 19 sts, M1-p, work 18 sts, M1-p, work to end—64 sts. Change to 2x2 Rib; work even for 3 rows. BO all sts in pattern.

SQUARE 2

With RS of Square 1 facing, pick up and knit 64 sts evenly along right-hand edge of Square 1. Begin 2x2 Rib, beginning with Row 2. Complete as for Square 1.

SQUARE 3

With RS of Square 2 facing, pick up and knit 64 sts evenly along left-hand edge of Square 2. Begin 2x2 Rib, beginning with Row 2. Complete as for Square 1.

SQUARE 4

With RS of Square 3 facing, pick up and knit 64 sts evenly along left-hand edge of Square 3. Begin 2x2 Rib, beginning with Row 2. Complete as for Square 1. Sew left-hand edge of Square 4 to BO edge of Square 1.

SQUARES 5-10

Work as for Square 2, picking up sts for each Square from the previous Square, and sewing Squares 6, 8, and 10 to Squares 3, 5, and 7, respectively, as indicated in Assembly Diagram.

STRIPS 2 AND 3

Work as for Strip 1.

FINISHING

Sew Strips together according to Assembly Diagram.
