If you have difficulty synthesizing the cases you find and analyzing how and why they apply to your case, make a chart that lists the facts, reasoning, and holding from each case you will cite in your memo. Include a section for the facts from your own case. Review your chart and note the similarities and differences between your case and those you intend to cite. In your own words, formulate why the cases you cite are applicable to the client’s situation and draw your conclusion.
