Chapter 21

The tension was high in the car as she drove back to her house. She wanted to be carefree and happy about breaking her long sexual fast, but she was nervous. It had been a long time since a man had seen her naked. Her stomach had a pouch from carrying three kids, her breasts sagged and her ass did too. There were wrinkles, scars, dry skin, and God only knew what else.

She pulled into the parking area and sighed. “Maybe this isn’t such a great idea.”

“Why not?” Max asked with a typical male attitude

She didn’t want to go into all her physical flaws. “What if I don’t remember how it works?”

Max chuckled. “Pretty simple, tab A goes into slot B.”

“Max!” she huffed out in surprise, tinged with a little embarrassment.

“Well it’s true. You have three kids so you must have known at some time. It’s kind of like riding a bike.” He waggled his eyebrows. “I would be happy to instruct you.”

Carol felt her face heat. “But…”

“What’s the real problem?”

“I’m not in my twenties anymore, or even my thirties.”

“Well, thank God for that. I don’t want to be some old letch hitting on an infant.”

“But…”

“Oh, I get it, you’re worried about wrinkles and saggy skin and scars.”

She nodded.

“We both have them honey, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy each other.” He leaned over the console and pulled her head toward him. His lips brushed the corner of her mouth in a soft kiss, and he continued the path, across her mouth to the other corner. It was a sweet closed mouth kiss, but it still managed to send tingles of want through her.

She clutched at his shirt and pulled him back for another kiss. This one packed heat and desire. She opened her mouth and he swept inside, claiming her, dueling with her, ramping up the heat.

His hand moved and he cupped her breast, kneading it, the nipple beaded, and he ran his thumb over it. She gasped as fire shot through her.

He pulled back from the kiss. “Seems like everything is working just fine to me.”

She opened her eyes, pulling slowly out of the drugged state she’d been in. It felt so damn good to have a man’s hands on her curves. To hell with insecurities, she wasn’t going to pass up this chance to have sex with a man who didn’t see her as an authority figure. He saw her as a woman and that’s all she wanted.

Carol glanced down at his crotch and saw his arousal pushing at his jeans, gratifying to her, it was clear he was on board. “I guess it is, let’s go inside and explore a bit more. Leave the stuff, we’ll get it later.”

Max followed her in, and they went straight up to her room. She didn’t pause to check on anything. It could all wait an hour. But mostly she didn’t want the doubts creeping back in. When the door clicked shut and Max locked it, she gulped.
