The formula for this baby blanket is simple: Repeat one square 36 times, arrange, and join. The diamonds in each square—made from twisted stitches—are joined to form a flower in the center of the blanket (see photo on page 85).

18 sts and 24 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch (St st)

PETAL (make 36)

CO 4 sts. Begin Petal Chart; work even until Chart is completed.

BO remaining 4 sts.

Edging: Using crochet hook, sl st into the beginning of one side of Petal. *(Ch 2, sc) 10 times along 1 side, (sc, ch 2, sc) in corner; repeat from * 3 times.
