Facies A (shale)

Dark green shale (max. thickness ca. 22 cm) with thin silt inter-laminae. The shale laminae often incorporate mm-thick, darker and wrinkled shaley wisps. The facies also contains lenticular siltstone beds. Siltstone beds are mostly massive or planar-laminated and locally finely cross-laminated. Their bases are sharp and planar, while their tops may be gradational. Soles of the beds bear tool marks, including groove casts and prod marks, oriented in an E–W direction

Overall quiet water depositional setting interrupted by distal storm deposits
