Another Friday evening where everyone wanted to go home after work, but was now drunk enough to talk excitedly about themselves, laughing with each other across the table. I look up and see a framed landscape painting hanging over our table, staring down at us. I recognized its depiction of the famous Buddhist parable about a prince who dreamed he was in paradise only to wake up to reality. Yes, I wish this were a dream too. I hear our team leader talking loudly over everybody on the other side of the table but can’t make out what he’s saying.
