Chapter 13: Imani

Me, Nae, and Breesha were going to Hollywood Beach to have dinner at this nice restaurant called GG’s. I had been there before with Shard and the food was amazing. The girls and I were gonna have a much needed ladies night, because with our busy schedules, we haven’t really been able to hang out as much as we used to. Of course, I was running late as usual. Being as though I was now five months pregnant, it was hard for me to wear certain clothes since they were too small now. I was able to get into my short, jean dress with my brown moccasin boots. On my shoulder was my big, brown, oversized Louis Vuitton handbag. My hair was neatly done in some Janet Jackson, Poetic Justice plaits. On my face were some big frame Tom Ford sunglasses.

I got out the car and gave valet my keys, and walked inside the restaurant. As soon as I walked in, I spotted both of my beautiful cousins sitting down at the table outside by the water. I told the waitress where I was going, and walked outside to join them.

“Hey cousins,” I said as soon as I got outside.

“Mani look at you!” Breesha said, getting up and giving me a hug, followed by Nae.

“So what’s been up with ya’ll? Other than the fact that you’ve been getting dicked down real good,” I said, referring to Breesha with all those damn hickies on her neck and chest. She was wearing a white BCBG tank top, and a pair of yellow, skinny jeans that looked painted on her, and some pretty sandals from Steve Madden.

“Well, I’m pregnant,” Breesha said, which caused me to smile.

“Aww congrats cuz, when did you find out?” I asked her.

“Yesterday. I wanted it to be a surprise, but of course Dontae’s nosey ass found the test in the garbage,” she said.

“Where were you last night anyways? I called you about three times,” I said to Breesha.

“What time you called me?” she asked, taking a sip from her glass of water.

“Like at 11,” I said.

“Girl, I was dead to the world last night at 11. After that man finished with me, I was useless,” she laughed.

Me and Nae laughed, along with her crazy ass too. The waiter came and took our order, and for some reason I was craving some seafood, so I ordered the main lobster tail with a baked potato and some broccoli.

“And what’s been up with you?” I asked Nae.

“Not a damn thing. Working and sleeping,” Nae said, drinking her water.

“I gotta tell ya’ll something, but don’t say nothing about it because I promised Dontae I wouldn’t tell you, but this shit has really been bothering me,” Breesha told us.

“Okay, what’s up?” both me and Nae asked at the same time.

“So like two weeks ago, Dontae gets a call from his cousin April that works down at Memorial Hospital, and guess who was rushed to the hospital?” Breesha asked us.

“Who?” we asked at the same time.
