As for me, well, I've no idea what people thought of me, but I can tell you they were probably wrong. Very few knew the real me at school. I've already told you I did everything I could to fit in with the ‘in crowd’. If that meant pretending to be someone I wasn't, then guilty as charged. It's tough being a teenager sometimes.

The in‐crowd doesn't even exist. Well, it does … in their heads! I learned a long time ago that there's no such thing as an ‘in‐crowd’ and if anyone out there believes they are part of a social group that are better than any other group of humans simply because of the way you look or where you're from, then you can piss off.

And then Mark whatshisname from Facebook came along and changed the social comparison goalposts. He gave the world a gift. The gift of a never‐ending, modern day, high school reunion from hell.
