Dark Chocolate Strawberry Tort
Makes one 9-inch cake

This recipe is fantastically easy, but elegant. It is also a rare chance to add berries straight on top!
Ingredients:
1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar, plus 1 tablespoon for sprinkling
¼ cup, or ½ stick, (about 60 g) butter, softened
½ cup or 3 ounces (85 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
2 large eggs
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon other extract, like almond, chocolate, or strawberry
1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
¼ cup (25 g) Dutch-processed cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
Dash of salt
1 pint strawberries, halved, or other berry (about 300 g)
