Since I have no merit and have great poverty,

With no other wealth besides this to offer,

Accept this for me, you who have the power to accumulate immeasurably,

Protector with the wisdom to benefit others.

Thus, remembering the meaning of these words, carefully cleanse pebbles, sand, or whatever substance is available. If one visualizes that this represents the inconceivable wealth and glory of the phenomena of existence and enlightenment, and offers this, by the power of the Three Jewels, the sublime field of refuge, the purpose will be completely fulfilled.

In any case, whether one is able to acquire the best, middling, or inferior substances, the offering represents my bodies, wealth, and glories of all my lives that I offer to the Three Jewels in order to complete the two accumulations of merit and wisdom.

Thus, from beginningless time until now, in all the countless rebirths that have been taken, by focusing on the result of temporary bliss, one has acquired positive virtue with the power to produce the state of rebirth as a god or human being. This is zag bcas kyi dge ba, virtue with flaws, which means that this virtue is connected with intention, passions, and the material. Zag med kyi dge ba is virtue with wisdom, so it is called flawless virtue.

During all past lifetimes, it is entirely possible that rebirth was taken enjoying the full glory of the vast arrangement of the outer container of the universe and inner essence of beings. In this lifetime, it is a sign that previous accumulations were not lacking, since a precious human rebirth with eighteen eases and obtainments has been acquired. Once having acquired this, until the state of complete omniscience is reached, one will always remain under the protection of the Three Jewels, who are the unsurpassed limitless field through which the two accumulations are perfected. The limitless field is the limitless Buddhafields170 of the Three Jewels. The limitless offerings are the substances of limitless virtue. The limitless intention is not the wish for material rewards but the intention that all sentient beings, including oneself, shall attain enlightenment. By awakening the phenomena of the Mahayana and developing the supreme enlightened mind, the excellent appearances of gods and humans will endure until the supreme appearances of the state of fully enlightened Buddhahood manifest. Then, in future rebirths, there will be the sovereignty of higher rebirth taken in any of the four continents, subcontinents, the realms of the gods, and so on. There will also be the power to take rebirth as a Hearer, Solitary Realizer, Bodhisattva, Vidyadhara, Dakini, and so on, with the pure appearance of the universe and contents. Have no doubt that the power to take extraordinary rebirth will occur from the virtue of these limitless offerings.

By considering my bodies, wealth, and glories of all my lives, not just offering limited material or to fulfill small matters for oneself but in order for all sentient beings as all-pervasive as sky to cleanse the two obscurations and complete the two accumulations, these are offered to the Lama, the Three Jewels.
