The body of this pouch is made of medium-weight linen and the pouch flap is made of a hand-crocheted doily. The doily is worked in rounds and finished with pretty scallops. When you crochet the final round of the doily, stop crocheting after making seven scallops and leave the remaining edge without scallops. Only the finished scallops will be visible and used as a flap, while the edges without the scallops will be hidden inside the lining. Make your own covered button with a coordinating fabric scrap and use the small gap of the doily’s center scallop as a buttonhole.
