Tips for putting the squeeze on glue squeeze-out

Sometimes, we forget to remove glue squeeze-out before it hardens. At such times, we can rely on the chisel to rescue us. As shown right, position the chisel edge against the glue squeeze-out as if you were going to make a paring cut. Make certain that the chisel bevel faces away from the workpiece. To pop loose the squeeze-out, tap the chisel lightly with the heel of your hand.

f-y) Remove any remaining bits /=} of squeeze-out on the other side of the joint by positioning the chisel as shown right. Again, position the bevel away from the workpiece. little squeeze-out remains at this point, so carefully and gently tap the chisel. Remove any remaining glue with light scraping or sanding. #
