On the same theme, the Apostle Paul writes:

Count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you should obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life. (Rm. 6:11–13)

Christ seeks to liberate us from lust, redeeming the heart so that husbands and wives can truly love and give themselves fully to each other. Will we fear the severity of Christ’s words, or have confidence in their power to save us from lust?
