David Cameron has been the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since 2010. During that time, the European Union has confronted a disastrous financial crisis, involving possible default by the governments of Greece and Italy. This crisis comes after earlier problems in Ireland, Spain and Greece, resulting in the creation of a bailout fund and efforts to prop up failing businesses, plunging housing markets with record foreclosures, and debt-ridden governments. The continued existence of the Euro itself is now in question.

Cameron was asked to approve a bailout plan for European countries in trouble, primarily Greece. He vetoed the plan, which would proceed without Great Britain’s participation. He explains his actions to the House of Commons. I have structured the paragraphs.
