Conclusion

Paul’s gospel is a “message about the cross” (1 Cor 1:18), the “cross of Christ” (1 Cor 1:17; Gal 6:12, 14; Phil 3:18). But how can Jesus Christ accomplish all these multifaceted dimensions of salvation on the cross? Who, after all, is Jesus Christ? That question requires a survey of Pauline Christology. And although the outcome of salvation has already been touched upon in this chapter, we need to delve more deeply into Pauline eschatology to see how the various threads of his theology come together in the consummation of the kingdom. That is our mission in the next chapter.
