Developmental Goal: Practice cause and effect

Gather a variety of the infants’ favorite toys and at least one small blanket or towel for each infant. When the infants aren’t watching, place the toys on the floor and cover them with the blankets. Invite the infants to take the blankets off the toys. Share in their excitement when the toys are revealed. Encourage the infants to cover the toys and invite some of the other children to watch as the infants uncover the toys. The infants will enjoy this activity and want to repeat it many times if you show great enthusiasm each time the toys are uncovered.
