The gamut of emotions of John the Baptist as he became the first witness of the Holy Trinity are not recorded and are impossible to comprehend in the heart of such a humble man. While we can only guess at the complexity of emotions as he witnessed this portentous event, what we do know about John the Baptist is that he was a man of God, whose destiny was clearly defined by the Creator; a man born without original sin, who led a blameless life, obedient to God in all he did.
