Unable to speak French and with serious concerns raised by his followers over the mistreatment of Spanish citizens in France, Inigo’s idea did not seem a particularly salubrious one. Their protests went unheard; Inigo placed his trust only in God. He had spent almost two months in Salamanca and not once entered the college. Loading his books onto a donkey provided for him, he set out on foot for the French capital.
Life In Paris
Renowned as a center of excellence for its theology, Inigo relished the idea of studying in the University of Paris. In February 1528, at the age of 37, he arrived in Paris and enrolled in college.
