Cdd (centered double decrease): Slip the next 2 stitches together as if you were going to knit them together. Knit the next stitch. Pass the 2 slipped stitches over the stitch just knit.

Brim

Using MC and the smaller circular needle, cast on 144 (160) stitches. Join to work in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches around the needle. Place a stitch marker on the needle to indicate the beginning of the round.

Round 1: * K1, p1; repeat from * to the end of the round.

Repeat this round until the piece measures 1″ (2.5cm).

Next 3 rounds: Knit.

Change to larger needles.

Next round: Knit.

Begin working pattern from Flicka Hat Chart. The pattern is repeated 18 (20) times around the hat.

When row 26 of chart is complete, continue with MC only, and knit every round until the hat measures 7″ (18cm) from the beginning.

Next round: * K34 (24), k2tog; repeat from * to last 0 (4) stitches, k0 (4)—140 (154) stitches remain.

Next round: Knit.
