Is Soma Land the Unofficial Go-To Date Destination for Celebs?

Valentine’s Day. The news just had to come out on Valentine’s Day, didn’t it? I had no idea who was feeding the tabloids; all I knew was that they were one step ahead of Taek’s relatives.

When I saw the first thumbnail of Taek and me at Soma Land—his arms wrapped around me as he picked me up to put me on the carousel horse, I thought I was going to cry, but no tears came out. This was the moment I’d been dreading after every call, every embrace, every kiss. I guess I needed time to let the situation sink in. This time it wasn’t a daydream gone wrong; I was dealing with reality. People were going to look at me differently now. I was dating the nation’s most beloved boy band star. Chubby, dorky, plain old me.

“I am going to get through this,” I said out loud to my reflection. “Taek loves me and I love him.” I tossed my hairbrush aside. “Everything’s going to work itself out.” I slammed my fists down onto my vanity. “And I am not running away this time. Not to Australia or anywhere else, for that matter.”

“Bea!” Dad yelled. “Could your mother and I talk to you for a minute?”

Oh man. When I heard Dad’s voice, I realized my pep talk to myself was useless. My mind instantly went into panic mode—I’m talking jittery hands, tight chest, dry throat.

“Honey?” Dad knocked on my door. “Are you busy right now?”

“It’s still so early in the morning. Why don’t we talk to her later, once you get back home?” Mom said to him.

“Alright,” Dad replied.

Whew. To say that I was unprepared to have a conversation about my love life with my parents would’ve been an understatement. Although I wasn’t going to be ready for it by the time Dad returned from work either, I was just relieved I didn’t have to face my parents immediately. I mean, even as a college student, I’d been a major procrastinator.

Taek called me at around six, after he finished shooting an advertisement for a brand sponsorship. Although I knew I was being embarrassingly childish, I shut myself in my closet to take the call.

“Where are you?” I asked.

“Babe, I’m in my car.” He sighed. “I’m about to head over to Hanrabong Entertainment.”

“To meet Executive Bong?” I squeaked.

“No. I think he’s currently on a business trip to the U.S. It seems like it’ll be me with Shadows’ management team, publicist, and maybe Dusty and Woobin, if I’m lucky.”

“If you’re lucky? What are you saying?”

Taek chuckled. “Sarcasm, baby. I was joking. Dusty and Woobin are on my list of the top five people I don’t want to be meeting with today.”

“Could you please not mess around with me? Because it’s not funny.
