CHAPTER 8

ISRAEL: THE BEGINNING OF THE CHURCH

The Church And Israel

It is not our intention to debate the various interpretations regarding the Rapture because we believe that would only lead to additional confusion. The Rapture is an orthodox doctrine which cannot be denied. The purpose of this chapter is to encourage the Church to believe in the words of Jesus, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself that where I am, there ye may be also " (John 14:1-3) Therefore, we joyfully await the Lord! The apostle Paul warns believers to be "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ" (Titus 2:13). Therefore, based on the Scripture, we believe in the imminency of the Rapture!

The Bible refers to the Rapture as a "mystery!" For that reason we refuse to support the many sensational claims that circulate among believers about amazing new discoveries that allegedly "prove" the Bible is the absolute Word of God. Because the Bible must be believed, truth stands on its own merits. Truth does not need or depend on so-called scientific facts. The truth we proclaim is a person; His name is Jesus. He is in person, the TRUTH.

The Necessity Of Faith

The Bible says, "... he that cometh to God must believe that he is" (Hebrews 11:6). God gave us His Word and we believe it unconditionally. Whether we understand all of its content or only a little does not make a difference. We categorically dismiss all allegations of those who criticize the truth of the Bible because of our own limited human ability. In other words, some claim that since you cannot humanly explain something, it does not exist. Such conclusions are faulty because the Bible says, "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal" (2nd Corinthians 4:18).

Even the apostle Peter had to confess that some of the things Paul wrote were difficult to understand, "... even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood..." (2nd Peter 3:15b-l6a).

It is good to ask questions about the Word of God. It indicates that we are searching and striving for the truth so that we may further comprehend the wonderful mysteries of the depths of God. Paul expressed this hope which comes from the increased understanding of His Word, with these words, "The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may
