The snow was falling more gently now. The frankincense burned continuously: oddly, it never seemed to need replenishing. Somebody was playing John Lennon’s Working Class Hero down in the street. I heard the bit about being doped by sex and TV. And then the line: “You think you’re so clever and classless and free” drifted up. It was almost as if GT orchestrated that moment to underscore his point. And then, I actually started wondering if he had. What on earth was I thinking?!
