Insert this type of zip closure BEFORE you assemble the bag lining. If you want to add any internal bag pockets to the lining you should add them BEFORE you insert the concealed top edge zip.
1 Trim the zip with the zip tab – bring the zip tab fabric pieces RST, pin and stitch together all around the sides and bottom, leaving a 4cm (11⁄2in) gap for turning the zip tab RSO. Turn the zip tab RSO though the gap and iron. Take the closed zip end and fold the zip tab in half over the zip pull end (so as to encase the zip end). Match all edges of the zip tab, pin and topstitch all around the zip tab to the zip pull end. See Fig a.
