3. Sew the first and last strips lengthwise to create a tube. Fig. B

4. Cut the tube every 2˝ to create 8 units. Fig. C

5. Unsew each tube at one seam as shown. Start with one color, moving to the next color on the next tube.

6. Press the seams as shown so they will nest. Fig. D

7. Sew the units together, creating the diagonal pattern. Make 25. Fig. E

QUILT ASSEMBLY

1. Sew the blocks into 5 rows of 5 blocks each.

2. Sew the rows together.

3. Sew 4 strips end to end to create each inner border. Trim the strip to 60½˝. Make 2.

4. Sew 1 inner border strip to 1 outer border strip. Make 2.

5. Sew the borders to the top and bottom of the quilt. Fig. F
