Although caused by a natural mutation, there are many delightful tales of how the Manx lost its tail, the most memorable being connected to Noahâs Ark. The sleeping Manx didnât hear the call to board, but awoke just as Noah was about to close the door and dashed aboard, only to get its tail trapped in the closing door. The result was the tailless cat we know and love today. The breed was one of the first show cats and although it can be shy, it loves people, making it a sweet, placid companion for any cat lover.
