Materials

6 yards assorted light, medium, and dark plaids and stripes for the Nine-Patch blocks

2½ yards dark blue plaid for the border triangles and binding

5½ yards backing fabric

A sister to Bright Patches, Plaid Patches has Nine-Patch blocks which are set more randomly. In addition, setting them on-point creates a completely different look. Make this quilt in all plaids (or add a few stripes for variety, like I did), in old-time reproduction prints, in bright colors, or in just about anything else you wish to use, and you’ll have a wonderful, warm, and inviting quilt to cherish.
