Fact: Just like the Fourth of July fireworks, I was bursting with energy. My thoughts no longer bounced around, imagining the worst. I was finally having fun. Thomas was right. STEM Girls was the time-out that my brain needed.

The night before the last day of camp, I sat on my bed with the family computer balanced in my lap. Sir Fig Newton lay by my side in a tight ball, wheezing softly. Humming an upbeat tune, I got online and started to go through my latest email thread with Thomas.
