Fury surges through my veins as I storm away from Harry, needing to put as much distance between me and him as I possibly can. I can’t believe he actually admitted to that. What an asshole. He knows that we are supposed to be keeping far away from one another. We’ve discussed that endlessly. So, to now act like it’s totally fine for him to bring me here so we can spend some alone time together is utterly infuriating. And disrespectful. It’s like he doesn’t care about my career at all. No wonder I’ve always hated him.

As soon as I reach my room, I grab the cell phone I left behind because that was supposed to be a relaxing moment on the massage table, and I call Tina.

“Hey girl, you calling me to make me jealous again?” she answers with a laugh, as if I’m on some kind of vacation rather than in the middle of hell. “Put me on video call.”

I do, but more so she can see how upset I am rather than to show her how gorgeous this place is. Harry and his bullshit has really put me in a tailspin.

“Uh oh, you don’t look impressed for someone who’s in paradise?” Tina’s lips turn down into a confused frown. “What’s going on? What have I missed out on?”

“Ugh, it’s just Harry.” I pace up and down the room as I rant. “I can’t escape him at this resort. This place definitely isn’t big enough for the both of us, you know?” Anger burns through me, almost becoming an unbearable pressure in my body because it’s too much. “I can’t stop running into him and it’s driving me up the wall. I really do hate him.”

Instead of joining in with my rage, Tina laughs at me. “Oh God, what’s happened?”

“I went for a massage, to try and have a little time out from all of this, and there he was. On the other massage table, making me all tense and stressed out. Not enjoyable at all.”

“Oh God, how did that end up happening?” Tina exclaimed. She really was enjoying this; it was like a treat for her. “That’s insane. I don’t know how you get yourself in these messes.”

I let out a little growl of frustration. “I think he keeps putting me in these positions. He basically said that he wants me here so we can spend some alone time together. Like we’re in the middle of a sordid affair or something. Trying not to get caught by Marc.”

Saying Marc’s name makes my stomach flip over, and not in a good way. He isn’t an ex-boyfriend that I wanted back in my life, and certainly not like this.

“Well, it’s kind of exciting, isn’t it?” Tina giggles. “It sounds to me like there is something going on between you. Have you thought about the fact that he might like you?”

I scoff angrily. She doesn’t even know the half of it, and she’s already jumped to that conclusion. How freaking annoying.
